Embark on a challenging journey teeming with friends and foes revealing the unusual relationship between caterpillars, butterflies and their natural surroundings. Shrink down into the undergrowth and explore Amazing Butterflies, an exciting interactive exhibit created by The Natural History Museum in London in collaboration with Minotaur Mazes. This is the only Florida location for the exhibit.

Adventure through the leaves, learn how to move like a caterpillar, discover an ant that reaps the reward of an unusual friendship, then transform into a butterfly and take flight! Together, families can explore this interactive experience and learn the surprising challenges butterflies face every day.

Admission: Adults $7.50/ Florida Resident $6.50/ Youth $5.50

Come face-to-face with exotic, vibrant butterflies fluttering atop a lush tropical canvas of foliage and flowers as you experience the Butterfly Rainforest, the Florida Museum of Natural History's permanent exhibit. The screened vivarium houses subtropical and tropical plants and trees to support 55 to 65 different species and hundreds of free-flying butterflies. Stroll on a winding path and relax to the sounds of cascading waterfalls year-round. Live butterfly releases on Saturdays and Sundays at 2 p.m., 3 p.m. and 4 p.m., weather permitting.

See How Butterflies Grow! Take a behind the scenes tour of a working butterfly farm. The tour begins with an indoor presentation and then a leisurely walk through the butterfly gardens with lots of shady benches for visitors to stop and enjoy the scenery. The tour continues to the butterfly barn where the free flying butterflies are the star attraction that will capture the imagination of the young and old alike. This truly is an unforgettable experience.
